Information
- Eligibility process information and paperwork is available at https://wiaa.com/subcontent.aspx?SecID=1222
- Athletic Directors distribute and oversee completion of eligibility paperwork with student-athletes and families who wish to appeal their eligibility.
- Only complete packets will be processed and scheduled for a hearing. Incomplete packets will be returned to the Athletic Director for completion.
- Hearings are conducted for the sports in the current season only.
- Packets are due 3 days prior to a hearing date and are scheduled in the order received.
- The Eligibility Chair will go review the paperwork to determine if there is compelling evidence and clear hardship. These cases will be sent to a committee to review to approve eligibility or decide a hearing is needed.

- From the WIAA Eligibility Center:
- Many appeals are denied because the student, parents, or school do not provide documents to support their claims of hardship or the hardship does not meet the basis for hardship. The burden of providing evidence that a hardship exists shall be borne by the student.
