The articles below are designed to help Athletic Directors understand and navigate athletic eligibility. Each article is a page or two on a specific topic. The series is designed from the start of determining athletic eligibility thru dealing with a WIAA state hearing. Please note that articles will be added over the next several months and we hope to eventually have 8-12 articles in the series.

Information
Eligibility Information:
- Eligibility process information and paperwork is available in the eligibility section on MyWIAA: https://www.wiaa.com/eligibility/
- Athletic Directors distribute and oversee completion of eligibility paperwork with student- athletes and families who wish to appeal their eligibility.
- Only complete packets will be processed and scheduled for a hearing. Incomplete packets will be returned to the Athletic Director for completion.
- Hearings are conducted for the sports in the current season only.
- After the scheduled hearing date, fully completed packets are due 4 school days prior to a hearing date and are scheduled in the order received.
- A special hearing can occur for a fee of $100 provided by the family. This fee must be paid prior or when completed paperwork and payment are received.
- If an interpreter is needed for a hearing, please work with your school district to provide an interpreter for the athlete and family.
